Clive Elliott – Barrister
I am a registered patent attorney and barrister. Before going to the Bar, I was a partner and headed the litigation team at Baldwin Shelston Waters/Baldwins and was with the firm for just on 17 years.
I am a Council member of the Legal Practice Division and past co chair of the Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Committee of the International Bar Association. I am a vice president and member of the management board of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ).
I am Co convenor of the Intellectual Property Committee of the New Zealand Law Society and past Convenor of the Technology and Law Committee of the Auckland District Law Society.
I am a co-author of the Lexis Nexis loose-leaf texts Copyright and Design and Electronic Business Law.
I have for some years been a part time lecturer in the post-graduate Masters course at both the Department of Law and the Department of Commercial Law at Auckland University and recently taught the course “Selected Aspects of IP”.
I am a fellow of the Arbitrator’s Association (AMINZ) and on its panel of approved arbitrators.
I frequently write and talk on IP, technology and media issues.
